SENSE’s founder and chair, Dr Margaret Ashwell OBE was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science for services to nutrition by the University of Westminster in 2018. The award was made at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Margaret was delighted the day coincided with the day the RAF had their Centenary flypast up the Thames and so she and her guests got a superb view from the RFH balcony.

Margaret has so many achievements as a result of her varied and distinguished career to date, having worked for the MRC, The Consumer’s Association, BNF, Good Housekeeping Institute, held a string of honorary positions and is currently President of the Association for Nutrition.
